Kef moves with the seasons. This means that our range changes constantly, as we choose only to serve cheeses that are at their best at that particular moment. We sell exclusive, mainly raw-milk, cheeses that are generally from small-scale producers. Most of our cheeses are from France and the Netherlands. This map will give you an indication from the regions our cheeses originate from.
In 1953, Abraham Kef opened his shop at the Marnixstraat. He was a pioneer. A flamboyant cheese monger who introduces artisanal French cheese in Amsterdam. He loved cheese and he loved telling stories. Both have made a lasting impression in our town, and beyond.
